First of all, I want to apologize for becoming an elitist.
This short essay, which is written for all the best reasons, will only be of interest to those who either have access to the CBS television network or to the Paramount + streaming service.
That being said, I feel I’m on a mission and I want to share this with all my friends.
Secondly, this has nothing to do with Spiritualism, the Occult, Satan, Kali, Yama, or Putin.
Do you remember how you felt when you first saw the movie FARGO or 2001: a Space Odyssey? I don’t know about you, but I thought the world was changing. Consider the impact the books DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN have had on our consciousness and world-view.
I may be the last person to have discovered Robert and Michelle King; but I suspect that, in our post-movie society, they are the new Coen brothers (or Stanley Kubrick, if you will). Their series entitled EVIL is nearing its death. I think the last episode of this four-season thriller might be broadcast next week. The good thing is that if you have Paramount Plus, you can watch it from the very first episode. The characters are wonderful, believable, and perfect for their roles.
I don’t normally recommend television programs, but this one is unique. It explores the conflict between good and evil in just about every imaginable situation and it is a sermon on morality (while being a very exciting and enveloping program).
Side note: Robert and Michelle King also created a character called ELLSBETH in a comedy/mystery series reminiscent of Columbo, Monk, and THAT GIRL.
Happy viewing and be sure to block all those political bots that keep sending you texts begging for money.
I "binge" watched the first episode of EVIL when the other half went snowmobiling one weekend a couple years ago. It was very, very good. Not too preachy, which I liked.
I'm binge watching Murder, She Wrote and CSI. I'll replace CSI with CSI New York (Miami was a disaster of a star vehicle; I like ensemble shows). When I'm done with MSW I'll take a look at EVIL.
