Koreans toppled their military dictatorship in June 1987 after the death of one student who was struck in the head by a tear gas canister and succumbed to his injuries.

June, 1987.

One student.

Look it up.

Koreans stood in the street. They would not leave. They stood in the street. They stood in the street for weeks. Millions of Koreans. Millions. Seoul. Pusan. Taegu. Kwangju. Cheonju. Everywhere. Millions of Koreans. Stopped the entire country. They had had enough.

The country came to a standstill. The government mustered 200,00 riot police. Fired 300,000 rounds of tear gas. Koreans would not budge.

Because one student died.

June, 1987. Look it up.
