I am with you, but let's take bets on what Congress will attach to this funding for FEMA that has nothing to do with the people affected by the storm.

It appears that FEMA, like Social Security, has become simply another slush fund that the CIA can fund or not fund - depending on how many wars they feel we should be involved in. Of course, Ukraine is much more important to the military-industrial complex than the lives of people in North Carolina or Florida.

In today’s Saturday Morning, I have a segment on FEMA and the fact that they are sitting on $73 billion in unspent funds appropriated for past storms. That seems like more than enough to replenish their budget. I thought you might be interested.

I am reminded of a situation from a few years back. My sister-in-law, a successful architect that designed an air traffic control building in Saudi Arabia, asked my rich businessman father-in-law for money. She had a "project" in mind. While both were millionaires, they both said their money was "tied up" and inaccessible. Just imagine how many desks an appropriation must sit on before anything is done in the Federal government.

Paperwork and Politics: that's our government.

And that $73 billion dollars in unspent funds will disappear in Ukraine.
