Oops. I neglected to put Joe Keysor's NASCENT LIFE in the list before I edited it and corrected my error.

Me too. I must confess that I'm nearly out of ideas, though.

Write some comments about Steppenwolf.

That's not a bad idea, Joe. I am re-reading the book just now for the 5th time. It is harder to describe than SIDDHARTHA or THE GLASS BEAD GAME; but I might give it a try in a couple of weeks. I am such a huge fan of Hermann Hesse that I dissolve myself in his prose.

As my dementia worsens, I must give up pleasures such as Hesse and Jung.

Don't tell anyone Bill; but I just look at the pictures. :-D

It could be a book report, a brief synopsis, with info about Hesse, or else just an examination of the main ideas and their relevance to the counterculture (I recall Hesse was a popular author back in the 60s), or maybe something about the oriental philosophy behind the book, or maybe just some representative comments, or a mix of all of the above. I would read it with interest.

I was thinking along the lines of a book report; but you have opened my eyes to a larger project. Just today I put HERMANN HESSE BIOGRAPHY by Ralph Freedman and CG JUNG AND HERMAN HESSE by Miguel Serrano into my Amazon "wish list". This proposed project will probably be delayed for several months as Willie Nelson's ROLL ME UP AND SMOKE ME WHEN I DIE and SACRED GEOMETRY by Richard Heath are ahead of them.

So many thoughts So little functioning gray matter.

First of all, my favorite (and most-often read) book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes. Secondly, my grannie (the daughter of a Circuit Rider) was considered a saint in my church. She always read and explained bible verses from little cards she kept on the dining room table and she'd invent fairy tales. I remember one that ended, ..." Shadrack, Meshack, and to bed we go". What chapter and what verse of which book talks about them? I am suddenly interested.

Unlike you and all orthodox Christians, I see God as an inexhaustible source of energy and love. I see Him in all of his works (even in those who nearly executed President Trump). Ultimately, it doesn't matter to me.

Oh! And once I called missionaries "hypocrites". They resign their children to lives unlike those of JW's and Mormans and if they really had a desire to change the world, they wouldn't spend half their time begging for money: they'd set up camp in Chicago's south side, Harlem, Detroit, Oakland, St. Louis, Philadelphia, or any stateside hell-hole and try to make a REAL difference.

Well, my dog has kennel cough and I must sure she's not puking.

Later!

Everything is fine. I gave Sadie J. some honey. She caught Kennel Cough at the Veterinary Hospital where we took her for her one-year checkup. They'd like us to bring her in - but since that's where she caught it, we'll let it run its course. When I talk of Angels, I speak of God (call him YHWH or El or whatever) when I speak of angels and yet, even saints. I'm sure it says in the bible that angels walk among us without our awareness. I see them, just as I see the Logos, as part of the ONE GOD. His spirit gives us life and His spirit will guide us through life.

Congrats on your prediction. I'm amazed Joe lasted as long as he did, given that his dementia was so obvious 4 years ago. The challenge for the Dems is to find a replacement who can read a teleprompter.

I’m giving you TOTAL props Charles for bringing this back to the surface. I have to say, since we began our conversations around this topic a couple months ago, I’m finding myself at a total loss for words as to how prescient you just may be (using the wisdom of the I Ching). I’ve been formulating an idea about a possible joint-post with you about this wild prognostication given how current events are playing out and how our conversation about it all got heated. Back then, I said I’d remember to say goodbye to you when you left—but now, I want you to stay regardless. If anything, the two of us have a very real example of how two people with almost polar opposite views on some things, have found true and genuine commonalities with respect, civility, and generosity. You’ve got some things truly going on and I would be the lesser if you were to not play a role in my continued growth. And you’ve got ideas—don’t kid yourself man. Just write you!

And to see my page highlighted—THAT melted me my friend. And I’m glad to call you that…with pride. Thank you.

It's an intriguing idea - working together on a project. I recall that Bill Heath and Simulation Commander were considering collaborating. I've has some experience: I edited ten books on Southern Praying Mantis with the author Roger D. Hagood (I think they might still be on Amazon).

Obviously, my editing skills are failing me. Today I had to add the name of mr ma's Substack to my list of favorite authors.

PS. Just because I didn't include Simulation Commander to my list, he was #11.
