Great writing! I regret that I'm not familiar enough with any of those movies to offer any thoughtful commentary. Though I agree 100% that Hollywood creates movies to dumb society down and brainwash the youth. I get so upset when I get wrapped up into a series and then a favorite character comes out of the closet to try to desensitize viewers. This supports my rant about making American men weak. Who was Biden's largest campaign contributor? The same person that is a major contributor to the Actor's Foundation. A communist invasion is happening right now. But their methods don't require troops on our soil. Not yet. Divide and Conquer and make us weak. I'll go one step further and say that Bill Gates push against red meat is another attack on our strength. Trying to torn every one into weak vegans and literally got men lining up to have their balls cut off.

I describe the movie “Breaker Morant” as being the finest strip of celluloid through which light has ever passed.

SPECIAL EFFECTS, n. : the stuff in modern movies that has replaced scripts, acting and direction

and . . .

OSCAR, n. : a trophy, the unabashed lusting for which has produced enough saliva to flood Arizona; The quest to obtain the shiny little man is so compelling, so vital, so crucial, so all-consuming that actors and producers will do anything to get him, even if it means making a good movie, which usually it does not.

I agree that the list of films are great ones...especially Cassablanca, on of my all time favorites.

My all time favorite film is a newer model; The Last of the Mohicans - 1992.

A PERFECT FILM, I timeless story based on a classic novel with amazing acting, dialog, cinematography and a most beautiful elcectic score (that stands on its own for listening)

Of course it is just so for me. I grew up as a natural born artist. My grandfathers library was full Scribners classics, illustrated by the great artists of the time..especially N.C. Wyeth, who illustrated the original novel The Last Of the Mohicans. The film literally brought Wyeth's paintings alive.

I pine for my life just to not forget this story, the paintings of it and the magnificent film.

I have had many favorites in my life. When I was younger the RKO classic KING KONG was my very favorite movie. And then along came Peter Jackson's supurb masterpiece "remake" that somehow miraculously improved on the original.

I became a special effects artist in the Hollywood film industry in the main because of my love of the original KONG film. I had gotten into table top animation as a teenager making 8mm movies with models I had made.

These skills learned at that young age eventually paid off in a real career in Special Effects.

I worked on The Howling with Rob Bottin, and then again with him on John Carpenter's THE THING (1982), TERMINATOR (1984), GHOST BUSTERS (1984) ALIENS (1986)...and many others in a 20 year career in both filme and theme park work. My last movie was Dreamcatcher (2003)

I went on to become a sculptor doing fine art bronze after the movies. I am now retired and have become a gadfly on political forums.
