Mr. Jim was a very open-minded gentleman that owned an exotic petstore within walking distance of my high school. For no very good reason, my friends and I decided that the "mascot" for our club (the FERNDOKS - i.e. Friends, Enemies, and Republicans of North Dakota, Ohio, and Kansas) would be an armadillo. We had already given ourselves cards identifying us as FERNDOKS thanks to scissors and access to our biology textbooks and I thought it would be great fun to have an actual armadillo.
